Urban Innovation Environment Index 2023

The Forum will include presentation of the first edition of the Index that ranks 100 major cities of the world by their technological and spatial development, ability to provide accessible and diverse city services.

The Index ranks megacities by their ability to manage urban development, shaping an environment favorable for innovation. The Index is envisioned as a practical tool for city administrations that can contribute to a more harmonious urban development and provision of more effective city services.

The Index is based on four pillars of indicators: balance of urban development, structure of economy and development of innovative sectors, diversity of urban environment, and agglomeration development.

During the session the top 10 BRICS cities that emerged as leaders in technological and spatial development according to the Index will be announced.
