Megacity Online. Blueprint for Technolgy Business in Urban Environment

Digital innovations, which at first were unnoticeable helpers in the usual urban environment, have suddenly initiated change in the organization of such settings: scurrying couriers in corporate uniforms, ubiquitous yellow cabs and carsharing – offline manifestations of the online revolution – have become the most striking elements of modern Moscow. Technology companies are innovating cities and making particular demands on urban spaces – they need delivery points, dark kitchens, parking lots, bicycle lanes, charging stations, etc.

  • How do technological services change the city?
  • What kind of infrastructure do service companies need to function? What challenges do they face in their deployment?
  • What is the position of city authorities and citizens?
  • What types of new infrastructure should we expect in the future – from rest points for couriers to 3D fitting rooms?
